What does "Miguu" mean?
Miguu Expeditions was born from friendship, curiosity, and a shared love of the wild. The name Miguu means “feet” or “steps” in Swahili — a reminder that every great story begins when your feet touch the earth. In the Philippines, it also means friends — and that’s exactly how this story began.
A Partnership
In 2018, Tanzanian Safari Expert Charles Mpanda met Dondi and Corinne Joseph, an adventurous, photography-loving couple, during a “Crossing of the Mara River” safari in the Serengeti. They quickly became friends and kindred explorers. Over the years — through countless safaris, unforgettable photographs, and even during pandemic lockdowns — their bond only grew stronger.
Safaris That Go Beyond Travel
By 2023, their shared passion for Africa and desire to give back led to the creation of Miguu Expeditions Ltd. Today, the team curates safaris that go beyond travel — connecting people to wildlife, culture, and purpose, while supporting local communities across Tanzania. Miguu Expeditions is all about people - and that's what makes us a lot of fun to travel with!
