Miguu is your one-stop partner for safari adventures! We organize safaris, from wild camping to luxe accommodations, to Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Madagascar, Mongolia Ethiopia, Botswana and Sri Lanka.
We are based in Arusha, Tanzania. Arusha is the starting point of all North Tanzania safaris to:
You can go to the Serengeti anytime of the year. The Serengeti is the home of The Great Migration.
The Great Migration is an annual 800km long march by 2,000,000 wildebeests and zebras that begins in the southern part of the Serengeti National Park. The animals march northwards from there, cross two crocodile-infested rivers, then cross into Kenya. After a few days or weeks in Kenya, they cross back again into the Serengeti. This has been going on for over 1,000,000 years.
There are 3 major events and 3 high seasons to the Great Migration. These are:
The 1st event is the Birthing Season(January/February). During this season, 2,000,000 wildebeests and zebra gather in the Southern Serengeti, when 250,000 wildebeest calves are born.
The 2nd event is in June: the Crossing of the Grumeti River, after south Serengeti, when the calves are strong enough, they begin their northwards march. The Grumeti River is the first crocodile-infested river they need to cross.
The 3rd event is the dramatic and exciting Crossing of the Mara River, also known to many as The Great Migration. This happens from mid-July to Mid-September. This is what most want to see and it is very high season.
If you just want to see the herds of animal, and wildlife, then you can go during the Low Season months of April, May, and November. You will not see the 3 big events but you will see the large herds of animals on the march, and see many, many other kids of wildlife.
We have 2 safari themes during Low Season: The Land of the Lion King Safari and In Search for the Big Five Safari.
There are less tourists in Low Season, and prices drop 30% to 40%.
Our safaris are “all-inclusive”. We handle every detail of your safari from the moment you land, till the moment you leave. Everything such as airport transfers, accommodations, food, safaris, expert guides, safari drives, domestic flights, and vehicles are included in our service. Some lodges include drinks, others don’t.
We do not organize international flights, only domestic flights. If you wish we can connect you to one of our partner travel agencies for your international flights.
Tanzania has the highest lion population in the world. With luck and good guiding, you will see the “Big Five”: Lions, Elephants, Cape Buffalo, Leopards and Rhinoceros. The Rhinos can be the most difficult to find. You will also see Giraffes, Hyenas, Crocodiles, Hippopotamus, Impala, Gazelles, Eland, Dikdik, hundreds of bird species, mongoose, and many, many more species. And of course you will see zebra, and the King of the Serengeti, the wildebeest. Millions of these.
Our safaris will cost from US$ 2,750 to $ 8,500 depending on the season/month of safari, quality level of accommodations, number of persons, and duration (number of days) of the safari.
No we don’t. We go to the places we know best and love the most.
Kilimanjaro International Airport, known as JRO
From the Philippines, there is Ethiopian Air, Qatar Air and Turkish Airlines. From other countries it is best to ask your travel agent for the best route. Only Qatar flies from Cebu. All 3 airlines fly from Manila.

You see all the animals and depending on where we go, you will also see herds of marching wildebeests and zebra.
Because the Great Migration is a world-renowned event and our boutique lodges have limited capacity, we recommend booking immediately for 2026 safaris and at least 8 to 12 months in advance for 2027 safaris.
Our signature expeditions range from 10 to 12 days. This allows for a more relaxed pace, covering Arusha, Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti.
We also offer 7-day safaris.
We can customize a personalized safari for 2 or more people. 4, 8 or 12 is ideal as 4 per vehicle is comfortable.
If the guests want to have 5 to 6 people per car, that is possible.
We use customized 4x4 safari Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs for 360-degree wildlife viewing, charging stations for cameras, and refrigerators stocked with refreshments.
January/February is summer. Expect temperatures from 19c to 34c. The nights and early mornings are cool.
In April/May (the green season), expect lush landscapes and occasional showers with temperatures between 18°C–30°C.
In September (the winter, dry season), temperatures range from 15c to 28c. In the Ngorongoro highlands and crater, the temperature drops to 12c in the evenings and early mornings.
We use customized 4x4 safari Land Rovers and Land Cruisers with wide windows, and pop-up roofs for 360-degree wildlife viewing, charging stations for cameras, and refrigerators stocked with refreshments. We have specialized photographer-focused Land Rovers.
We recommend consulting your doctor of course. Yellow Fever vaccines are not required unless you are coming from a country with Yellow Fever, or you are going to a country with Yellow Fever. Tanzania is not considered a Yellow Fever country. We do recommend taking anti-malaria tablets.
Neutral-colored clothing (khaki, green, tan), a warm jacket for early morning drives, sturdy walking shoes, a good wide brimmed hat, a high-quality camera, binoculars, insect repellent, and plenty of sun protection. Avoid dark blue or black clothing as they can attract tsetse flies. We also recommend long-sleeved shirts and pants for sun and insect protection.
Most of our selected luxury lodges and permanent camps provide Wi-Fi in common areas, and some have wi-fi in and around the tents/rooms/villas. However, connectivity can be intermittent in remote areas of the Serengeti, allowing for a true "unplugged" experience.
Absolutely! Miguu welcomes both children and senior citizens, as our private 4x4 vehicles and "Drive In, Fly Out" model offer the flexibility and comfort needed for all ages. While we recommend a minimum age of five to fully enjoy the wildlife experience, our itineraries can be customized with shorter outings and child-friendly activities like visiting the Serval Wildlife Sanctuary. For seniors, we prioritize accessibility by selecting luxury lodges with modern amenities and arranging domestic flights to eliminate long, bumpy road transfers, ensuring a relaxing yet adventurous experience for the whole family.
The food is good and fresh, and plentiful. Lots of vegetables are served so vegans and vegetarians will not have any food issues.
Yes, the national parks in Tanzania have very good and clean toilet facilities. Of course, there will be times when you won’t want to drive to the toilets, so it is normal to just do your thing in nature.
