MARA RIVER CROSSING
Amazing test of instinct and survival of the fittest
See tens of thousands of wildebeests gather at the riverbanks of the Mara River and attempt a crossing of the river. The animals cross to follow their food – grass – which grows all along the path of the Great Migration. Happens 2 to 3 times a day in 10 specific points of the river.

Itinerary
AUG 14 DEPART FROM PH VIA ETHIOPIAN AIR
TRAVEL TIME: 19 hours
DAY 1 - AUG 15TH - ARRIVE ARUSHA/JRO AIRPORT (KILIMANJARO)
Shopping Safari possible depending on arrival time.
Accommodation: Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge for 2 nights
Board Basis: Bed & Breakfast
DAY 2 - AUG 16TH -DRIVE FROM ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK THEN TO KARATU
We will drive 2.5 hours thru the scenic Maasai Lands to Tarangire for our first safari experience.After our game drives and safari picnic lunch we will drive to Karatu, our base for the next day’s Tanzania Tribes Experience.
Accommodation: Kitela Lodge for 2 nights

DAY 3 - AUG 17TH - TANZANIA TRIBAL EXPERIENCE
After an early breakfast, we will drive 1 hour to Lake Eyasi to visit the homes of the Hadzabe and Datoga Tribes. We will be back in Kitela for well-deserved chill time and a late lunch at 3:00pm.

DAY 4 - AUG 18TH - NGORONGORO CRATER SAFARI DRIVE
After an early breakfast we will drive to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World heritage Site for game drives and a picnic lunch. We hope to spot the endangered Black Rinoceros here!
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Farm House for 1 night

DAY 5 - AUG 19TH - DRIVE FROM KARATU TO MANYARA AIRSTRIP TO FLY TO KOGATENDE
Kogatende is in Northern Serengeti which is the home of The great Migrations Crossing of the Mara River, which is considered one of greatest show on earth. We will hope to see tens of thousands of wildebeest and zebra attempt to cross the river to each the feeding lands beyond.

DAY 6 to 9 -AUG 21ST to 25TH -FOUR FULL DAYS OF GAME DRIVES AND RIVER CROSSING SAFARIS
Mara River viewings and safari drives and wild picnics.

DAY 10 - AUG 26TH - SAFARI DRIVE TO KOGATENDE AIRSTRIP TO FLY TO ARUSHA
After breakfast we will safari drive to the airstrip. We should be back in Arusha by 4:00pm at the latest after an hours flight.
